SayWhatClub Convention Scholarships

The SayWhatClub (SWC) works to provide scholarships for those who feel they would benefit from attending our convention, but do not have the financial means to attend without assistance.  Scholarship recipients are expected to attend all Convention workshops and join in activities, where able. We gratefully acknowledge Listen Technologies as 2026 SayWhatClub scholarship sponsor.

SWC SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Applicants must be

 1) active subscriber to a SWC list or the Facebook group and

2) have a hearing loss and

3) must be in genuine need of financial assistance.

Please carefully list your financial needs, listing only what you absolutely need to attend. This is important as our scholarship fund is limited but our goal is to assist as many who otherwise would not be able to attend.

Subscribers may receive a maximum of two scholarships in their lifetime. Scholarships for first time receivers includes registration and hotel. For a second time recipient, it includes only registration.  Travel expenses and extra costs of any activities are never covered.*

Scholarship awards will be made no later than April 7, 2026.   Applicants should be sure to check their e-mail frequently during this time. Your acceptance or declination of the scholarship offer must be made within forty-eight (48) hours of being notified of the award; otherwise, we will consider the offer as declined.

In return, recipients are asked to provide support to the club in some of the possible forms:

  • Writing an article for the SWC website or Facebook page describing their convention experience:  how SWC has helped them handle their hearing loss or what they’ve learned through SWC.
  • Working a few hours to help the Welcome Party, helping at the convention registration desk or other tasks as needed (to be determined).
  • Volunteering to serve on some SWC committees during the year.
  • In addition, recipients are required to go to “Newcomer” activities as provided.

*All funds are contingent on allotted funds being available.
